I start the majority of my flower and vegetable seed on soil blocks if they do not require direct sowing outdoors. Using soil blocks saves me space and time. I craft the soil material from coco coir, compost, worm castings, rain water and a mineral composition that I procure from my mentor at The Gardener’s Workshop, near Newport News.
